The film is a farcical comedy of mistaken identity. Constance Talmadge plays a dual role: Helen, a neglected, "dowdy" housewife, and her identical twin, "La Perry," a notorious Parisian dancer. After an argument with her husband Joseph (Ronald Colman), Helen meets her sister at the train station. The two concoct a scheme where Helen, disguised as La Perry, attempts to re-seduce her own husband to test his love and teach him a lesson. The trick works, leading to a series of comedic situations.
