Colleen Moore, her most well-liked co-star Lloyd Hughes, and her husband John McCormick (1893–1961) created the 1926 American silent comedy Ella Cinders, which was directed by Alfred E. Green. The movie is based on William M. Conselman and Charles Plumb's syndicated comic strip of the same name.
The Library of Congress chose Ella Cinders as "culturally, historically, or aesthetically significant" in 2013 and added her to the US National Film Registry.
