The story centers on Maggie Keenan (ZaSu Pitts), a headlining comedienne with the Follies who yearns for love and a normal life despite her success. She meets and marries Al Cassidy (Tom Moore), a musician whose drum she falls into during a stage accident. Al becomes a successful songwriter, and the couple starts a family, with Maggie settling into life as a homemaker. Their happiness is threatened when Al becomes infatuated with Selma Larson (Lilyan Tashman), one of the show's beautiful stars, for whom he is writing a new number. Maggie eventually learns of their affair but, in a display of love and forgiveness, seals Al's lips when he tries to confess, declaring everything untrue and foolish.
