### **Anti-Sperm Antibody (ASAB)**
**Anti-Sperm Antibodies (ASAB)** are immunoglobulins that mistakenly target sperm as foreign invaders. They can be present in both male and female reproductive tracts.
* **Impact on Fertility:** ASABs bind to sperm, causing them to clump together (agglutination), which severely hinders their motility and prevents them from swimming through the female cervical mucus.
* **Fertilization Barrier:** By coating the sperm head, these antibodies can block the crucial sperm-egg interaction, preventing successful fertilization.
* **Clinical Detection:** Commonly diagnosed using Semen Analysis (Mixed Antiglobulin Reaction / Immunobead tests) or blood ELISA assays, guiding decisions for assisted reproductive treatments like IVF or ICSI.

**Anti-cardiolipin (aCL) IgG and IgM antibodies** are autoantibodies—immune proteins that mistakenly target the body's own cell membranes, specifically phospholipids.
Testing for both types is essential when evaluating unexplained blood clots, recurrent miscarriages, or autoimmune diseases like systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE). **IgM** antibodies usually appear first during an initial immune response, while **IgG** antibodies develop later and typically persist longer, often carrying a stronger clinical association with clotting risks.
Elevated levels of either antibody serve as primary diagnostic markers for **Antiphospholipid Syndrome (APS)**, a condition requiring careful medical management to prevent future thrombotic events.

Albumin is the most abundant protein found in human blood plasma, primarily produced by the liver. It acts as a vital carrier molecule, transporting essential substances like hormones, vitamins, enzymes, and medications throughout the body.

Crucially, albumin maintains oncotic pressure, a counter-pressure that prevents fluid from leaking out of blood vessels into surrounding tissues.
